I want to add a form that add and subtracts for my manager. They will add total sales and then input all voids and comps and it should give them a total. Which will be added to a filed as well. Can this be done with MachForms?

JavaScript would be the only way. Change element_xxx to ones that match your form.

Yes you, can accomplish this using javascript. Here is some code that I have edited so that you can understand the process of how things are calculated.

I got this to work in the pass but don't remember anymore it been a bit. Under the form do I load custom JavaScript file, Under Advanced Option in the Form Properties?

You have to upload the Javascript file onto a web server somewhere so it has a URL. I created a new folder in the "machform" folder for Javascripts. Then you need to edit the form by clicking on the "Edit" tab below the form name. When the form is open for editing, click on the "Form Properties" tab in the panel on the right side and then on the "show more options" link. More controls will open up. Scroll down and look for the heading "Advanced Option" near the bottom. Check the box "Load Custom Javascript File" and type or paste the URL of your Javascript into the text field that appears. Save your form and Javascript should load when the form does from now on. The URL should look something like this: https://www.mycollge.edu/machform/custom_js/myscriptname.js

williamansley William, I noticed that you are very knowledgeable regarding MachForm. I used it for 4 years at my previous company and I want to use it my new position. I need to control the entry number starting point so that each form begins at a number of my choosing. Can this be done? I do not want to purchase the platform without being able to do this. EnocPerez you need to use a number field instead of the price field. the element ID is different than if you use a number field.

It has 5 number fields, the first four are entered by the user, and the total needs to go in field 5.

But the total does not appear in field 5 "Total".

Hi It does not add as I put in the numbers. is there a way to auto sub as I input the numbers. So as I in putting Price 1 of $1.00 The total would already have an total of $1.00 and so on with the Price 2, Price 3, Price 4.

EnocPerez yes, I have already answered this question initially with the snippet of code at the very beginning of this thread. Its basically all components you need in order to obtain what you are wanting. Keep in mind you need to use number fields, NOT price fields.

Example: element_1 we want to add with element_2 and then calculate the total and put it in element_3.

mmetcalf Unfortunately, there isn't any easy way to do this in Machform. If you wouldn't mind explaining why you want to do this, perhaps I or someone else could come up with an alternative way of accomplishing your goal.
