At the college where I work, people are using Machform to collect sensitive information, despite warnings about security. We really have a need for an easy-to-use form creation product here that currently is unfilled except by Machform.
We (the ITS department) would like to move our Machform application installation to a server where the database will be encrypted on the fly. (The encryption feature that was recently added to Machform will not help us, since it only works with data collected after it is enabled. We can't use Machform cloud solution either because of the limitations on accounts.) Given that we are a two-year college, cost is definitely a factor (not that this isn't the case in education in general ).
Is anyone using a hosting service that provides secure servers with database encryption that they would recommend? We are located in New York state in the USA.
