Now that PDFs can be customized in Machform, I am going to renew my request to add a feature that would allow you to set up a form to export a PDF file containing the data from a form to a location on a server automatically, when a form is submitted or when it is approved, with the option to control this export based on logic. There should also be the option to do this export manually, on demand. The format and contents of the PDF should be customizable, the same way that you can now customize PDF email attachments. It should be possible to direct the output to any server reachable from the server Machform is running from. The file name should be customizable using merge tags.
A use case for this is the Financial Aid department at the college where I work. They have set up many Machforms to collect data from students. Right now, they manually generate PDFs from the data submitted to these forms, which are imported into our student document management system. If the data could be exported to PDFs automatically, it would save them an enormous amount of work.
It would be useful to have the option to export the entry data as a Excel or CSV file as well, without customization.
