Are there any future plans to fully meet conformance standards for WACG 2.0?
Federal Agencies (and starting in 2018 Credit Unions) are required to meet these standards. The legal risk to these organizations is becoming too great for our clients to stick with Machforms if they do not meet all of these standards by default.
Some specific problems we often see are ungrouped fieldsets and the lack of legend elements. While we have been able to force-correct most these issues in most cases the solution is often 'hacky' and doesn't leave much room for guaranteeing upgrades won't break those fixes. This is obviously not ideal and ends up creating more work for us to ensure these forms comply with the standards.
We've been long-time users of Machforms and our clients love it, but WCAG 2.0 standards are becoming much too important to ignore. I'm afraid if this isn't in the roadmap we'll likely be forced to start looking at other options such as Wufoo (who designed their platform with WCAG 2.0 standards in mind).
I appreciate any discussion on this topic. I searched the forums a bit and saw that the Version 5 update should include some updates for AA conformance, but running some checks on your example forms I find accessibility issues are still present and I wasn't able to find any specifics on the topic. Maybe someone could point me in the right direction for more specifics on that.
This demo form, specifically, still has the issues I referenced above and I would assume runs the most recent version of Machforms: https://www.machform.com/demo/view.php?id=11496
